What we collect

  • Your name and email address when you create an account
  • Photos you upload during assignments
  • Your assignment history and case data
  • Basic usage data — which neighborhoods you’ve visited, cases closed, etc.

How we use it

  • To run the app and show you your own data
  • To display your photos in your Evidence Room
  • We do not sell your data to anyone
  • We do not use your data for advertising

Your photos

  • Photos are stored securely with private, authenticated access
  • Your photos are never publicly accessible without your permission
  • You own your photos — we just store them for you
  • You can delete your photos and account at any time

Children

On Assignment is designed for families. If your child uses the app, you as the parent or guardian are responsible for their account. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 without parental consent. Photos of minors are stored privately and never shared publicly.

Third-party services

We use the following services to run the app:

  • Neon — database storage
  • Cloudinary — photo storage
  • Vercel — hosting
  • Anthropic — AI-generated assignment content

Data security

  • All data is transmitted over HTTPS
  • Photos require authentication to access
  • Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text

Your rights

  • You can request a copy of your data at any time
  • You can delete your account and all associated data at any time
